Civic and Business Leaders Improve and Protect the State’s Largest Public Spaces
(AUSTIN, TEXAS) September 3, 2020 — Scenic Texas, the state’s only non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the visual environment in our state’s largest public spaces, announced the election of new board members this week.
“Texas has a rich cultural, historic and natural legacy,” said Scenic Texas Executive Director Sarah Tober. “We are fortunate to have visionary leaders who want to ensure future generations of Texans and the traveling public can enjoy the educational, economic and environmental benefits of our great public spaces.”
Joining the distinguished Scenic Texas Board, a group of civic-minded leaders who represent a broad spectrum of the state’s industry and nonprofit organizations, are:
- Casey Sledge, PE., CFM, CEO of Sledge Engineering (Taylor)
- Marissa McKinney, ASLA, Principal of Coleman & Associates, landscape architecture firm (Austin)
- Philip Gould, Senior Manager, Baker Hughes (Houston)
- Taylor Steen, Managing Director at Pristeen Assets, LLC (Houston)
- Cooke Kelsey, Attorney at Parker & Sanchez PLLC (Houston)
“Scenic Texas provides important leadership to educate citizens on the value of preserving and enhancing our public spaces,” said Margaret Lloyd, Scenic Texas Board Chair. “Whether they are advocating for urban forestry and tree planting and preservation or leading communities to create scenic roads, highways and districts, these leaders are dedicating their time and talent in ways that will benefit our fellow Texans and make our state more inviting to visitors.”
